Hi all, the big events of the animation world is coming soon. On this 11th February (less than one weeks), the 34th Annual Annie Awards will be held at Alex Theatre, CA. The tickets are $100 each. If converted to my currency, it will be RM350++ (quite expensive for me actually ). This event is organised by International Animated Film Society (ASIFA) at Hollywood since 1972. Hope we can have this type of event in South East Asia region too. Among the nominated animation for Best Animated Feature are Open Season, Cars, Monster House, Happy Feet and Over The Hedge. Well, who do you vote? You can vote it online using the Online Voting at the website, but you must register first.

Oh, I just know that the name of the Annie Awards come from the husband of June Foray, the person behind the idea of the awards. Her husband said something like this, “As long as it’s an animation award, why not call it the Annie?”. You can read more of the history here.
