On this 27th March 2009, a latest animated movie called ‘Monsters Vs Aliens’ will be screening in cinemas. This new Dreamworks Animation movie is about the Aliens attack on Earth ala Indepedence Day style. Since all the weapons, torpedoes and militaries failed to stop the Aliens, the United States goverment decided to use the Monsters that they have captured since 1950s as the last line of defence. Now, the freaking Monsters will take on the role as the saviour of the planet Earth. Pretty cool huh? I think they must be a lot of jokes in this movie Furthermore, this film is directed by Rob Letterman (“Shark Tale”) and Conrad Vernon (“Shrek 2″).

But what is really more exciting about this film to me is the new technology from Intel called InTru 3D. ‘Monsters Vs Aliens’ will be the first film that will be using this kind of technology.  and according to Intel, it will be the next leap forward in animation history. Based from what Jeffrey Katzenberg, the Dreamworks Animation’s CEO, said, InTru 3D will allows animated film to become “an immersive experience, not an observational experience” where the audience now will have a seat in the middle of the action. Hmm.. It sounds like the audience will be ‘pulled-in’ into the movie. Is it some sort like Virtual Reality stuff? Well, we have to wait for another 3 months to really know about it. Besides that, this movie will also use the new Dreamworks Animation’s Ultimate 3D. It is the studio’s proprietory production process of authoring its animated films in 3D from the beginning stage to finish. Hmm..for me, as long as the soryline is superb and the jokes are working, I don’t care a too much on the technology they used.
