The recent “Pixar Toy Story 3 Lecture Series” held at TPM (Technology Park Bukit Jalil) is a huge success. About nine team members from the Pixar company came down to Malaysia to give a series of talks and lectures and revealing the secrets behind the success story of Toy Story 3 which is now one of the highest grossing film ever in history. One of the talk is about Character Animation by Allison Rutland, the Pixar animator. According to her, she spent nine hours a day, five times a week for a year, just to perfecting the characters of Woody and Buzz Lightyear in that sequel. What a detailllll… The participants of the event should thanks those Pixar guys for sharing the tips and techniques on how to produce a successful animation.
For your info, that 3 days event from 10th to 12th August 2010 was organised by The One Academy and the MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation). This is a very good effort by them to raise the standard of the animation industry in our country and I think those 600 participants consist of animation professionals ans students should thank them too. According to the joint General Manager of The One Academy, Mr Tan Chin Wee, in the next lecture series in December, they will bring in Shawn Kelly, the lead animator for “Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen“. Woooww!! That should be exciting! Now go and mark your date in the calendar for this event. |
