Simon Pegg as Buck (Buckminster) the Crazy Weasel in Ice Age 3

Ice Age 3 - Dawn of the Dinasours Poster

I just came back from cinema watching “Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinasours” animated movie with my wife and kid. I think most of us have already watch this film and know what the film is all about so I just keep it to other movie reviews to explain it. What I can say is, the movie is ROCK and ROLL!!! To compare with the previous two movies, this is the best one in the trilogy. Guess which character that I like most in this movie?

Among all the characters, I love Buck the Weasel, or its full name BUCKMINSTER. He is a crazy, wacko and adventurous dude. Most of the time, I keep thinking of him like Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. At first I thought that this one-eyed weasel with a patch is a crook or bad guy, but eventually he is the saviour of the Ice Age gang soul. I really love the acting, facial expression and also the egoistic dialogue of this creature. He provide nearly 55% of the humorous moments in the film. He is the show-stealer!!!

Aaahhh, for your info, the actor who play Buck’s voice is Simon Pegg who is famous with film “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz“. No wonder the character got quite a strong British accent (“ala-ala Austin Powers“).The jokes and humorous moments also better than the previous films. It was done quiet natural and not overdo. There were also some memorable funny dialogues that I can remember until now. We were laughing endlessly and continuously through out the movie. I like it very much!! Damn funny I want to watch it for second time.

This film, produced by Blue Sky Studios, has a really wonderful and beautiful landscape of underworld prehistoric Jurassic time scenery. The dinasours also are very great and detailed although not as detailed as Jurassic Park (of course). There are also a lot of roller coaster moments and “swing” time. I wish that I can watch this movie again, but this time with the Dolby 3D Digital glasses. And dun worry, I will also bring the cotton to lessen the pain behind my ear. Happy watching ;-)
