Currently, my team and I are working on a website called "One Stop Literature in English". The concept of this website is to collect all materials that are available online and offline, for teaching and learning purposes. Our target for now (Phase 1) is to promote this website for T&L Poems and Short stories for Form 4 Literature subject. But, since we already have the materials for Form 5 Novel, The Pearl and Form 3 Novel, Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, so we just proceed to promote these 2 topics as well. So, how can this website helps you (and other students) in understanding English Literature? In this website (we used Moodle, one of the Content Learning Management System) we have teachers who can guide you in your understanding. You can enrol to our portal, and post a discussion in our discussion forum. Or, you can start to understand by reading the materials that we have in our portal or try to answer the exam questions related to the topic before you jump into the discussion. Why? Because as a teacher / educator, we want to know your pre-requisite knowledge, before we can actually help you with your understanding. We are more towards "Constructivist" approach in which we will be a facilitator and a guidance, and we are not going to 'spoon feed' the students with all informations. Therefore, students will learn on how to construct their knowledge for better understanding. Ok, enough said. How to join the portal? It is very easy. For now, we parked the portal in UM Server (under Academic Development Centre of UM) therefore, you have to go to http://adec.um.edu.my and register an account for yourself. Then, you will see there are a number of faculties in UM, but just search for Faculty of Education. Once you are done, search for One Stop Literature in English and click on the link.
