3D Street Painting by Kurt Wenner using Anamorphism Technique with Renaissance Theme
![]() |
I found this Street Painting art by Kurt Wenner is really beautiful and a masterpiece. His work on this is mostly on the Renaissance theme. He began his street painting art in 1982 in Rome. By 1984, he is recognized as one of the few Master Street Painters. So, how he did it?
In his work, he used the anamorphism technique to create the illusion of height (usually used in the drawing at the ceiling), coupled with a unique geometry technique that enabled him to bring his illusions to the horizontal surface of the street. If we look at the right angle in the front, it looks damn real and marvellous. If we look at the side, it looks some sort like a long horizontal, strecthed drawing. This technique is called anamorphic, illusionistic or famously known as 3D street painting. Nowadays, we can see many street painters adopt this technique with their own style.
