Damn Expensive French Ballerina Bronze Sculpture by Edgar Degas

I can’t believe my eyes when I saw the price for the ballerina bronze sculpture below when I read The Star Online yesterday.

Ballerina Bronze Sculpture

This sculpture by French Impressionist Edgar Degas is sold for a whooping value of USD 19 million which is equivalent to RM66.5 million (USD1 = RM3.5)!!! That’s a damn expensive price I will not pay for any statue, toy or sculpture (including the Transformers and Ultraman toys). But somebody from Asia has bought it (private bidder). That auction was held at Sotheby‘s auction house in London. For your info, the bronze sculpture name is “Petite Danseuse de Quatorze ans” or in English “Little 14-year-old Dancer” or in Malay “Penari Kecil yang berumur 14 tahun“. What a simple name for that jumbo price. Wheeeww..I wish I can learn to do a sculpture and easily sold it for a quarter of that amount. For more information, you can visit the original article from The Star.
