Horror Authors Film of H.P. (Howard Phillips) Lovecraft Based on Image Comics

I dunno much about this comic, but it surely looks damn interesting. This horror comic book titled “The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft” from The Image Comics series by Mac Carter and Jeff Blitz will soon be a comic to movie film adaptation. That sounds good…One of the famous filmmaker, Ron Howard really wants to direct this film. Since this is the first time for Ron Howard to do the graphic novel adaptation, it will be quite challenging for him. Yaaarrr..we understand. Just look at Watchmen, The Spirit etc. Anyway, personally, my dream team for this type of genre are Tim Burton as the director and Johnny Depp as H.P. Lovecraft. What da ya think?
About this horror comic, it is about the mixture of the true real-life events with the fantasy elements of one of the horror authors in the world who is H.P. Lovecraft. His real name is Howard Philips Lovecraft and he was born on 20th August 1890. He is well-known for his weird fiction work which combine the elements of horror, fantasy and science fiction. Due to his masterpiece like Cthukhu Mythos and Necronomicon, he has developed a cult following on his work. He died while still young at 46-year-old on 15th March 1937 due to intestine cancer and malnutrition. One example of the fantasy element inside the comic is about a book that lets the evil he writes about move into the real world. The character in this movie will be a young Lovecraft since it will focus on his early days when he has mental illness. He is not too popular and famous like other horror authors such as Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King, but I believe this movie will boost his reputation and his work soon. One sad thing is, he died poor until he was forced to move to smaller and meaner lodgings with his aunt. Even after he died, his fan raised money to buy hima headstone of his own with this phrase inscribed on it, “I AM PROVIDENCE” which is a line from his personal letters. |
