On last Saturday, I went to the Cineleisure Damansara to visit the Malaysian 24 Hour Comics Day 2007. The special thing is, it is in conjunction with the International 24 Hour Comics Day which means our artists here are drawing at the same time with other comic artists at the other part of the globe. Maybe Sheikh Muszaphar can validate this from the ISS (International Space Station) This time, the number of participants are doubled than last year which are 51!! The event is more happening as the number of participants are increasing a lot than last year, plus this time the event was held at the main lobby of the Cineleisure where the artists are now in the spotlight. The event started from 12 noon on 20th October 2007, Saturday and ends on 12 noon the next day,which is on Sunday, 21st October 2007.

Some of the faces that I already knew are Alifstyle, IceSoul, Nurie, Hafiz and also the finalist of Nescafe Kickstart who is Xanxieviera. I had a good time chit chatting with Alif and Icesoul who at that time were still in warm up stage. I can’t see pressure on their face yet as they only started for one hour and there are still 23 hours left I also met Cedric and Wong, the two Top Guns from Cedko who organize this great events. Cedric invited me to join the same event next year  if it is organized again. Hmm..I need to sharpen up my pencil. Heyy!! I forgot where I put my pencil already. Aiyoh!! 2007 is quite busy for me. But for this wonderful competition, I must be stronger a little bit. It will be interesting to have a night with all those people that have the same interest as me. Cedric and Wong, thanks a lot for spending time talking with me although you guys must be busy like hell organizing this event. I’ll sure come with my ‘weapon’ next year if the event is held again

I also bought the comic compilation of last year event which is Malaysian 24 Hour Comics Day 2006. The price is RM24 which is quite cheap with over 400++ pages (very thick!!), a very quality paper and the best part is it is a limited edition. FYI, the price that I get is after super discount and it is only during the event and pre-order. Normal price is RM50. The first comic I read is Terbang from Alifstyle since I’m quite a fan of his childish art but intellectual storyline. The comic from Azhar also is very good and have its hidden message to all comic and animation fan in Malaysia. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the comic compilation. Get your own copy now

Overall, the event is more happening as there are more participants and the artists location is so strategic which is at the center of attraction. Unfortunately, this time there are no Predator, Alien or Freddy Krueger like previous year. If they appeared, I would like to take picture with them since I didn’t bring my camera last time. Anyway, kudos to everybody who involved in making the event a success especially to Cedko, PeKOMIK, Pergh and all the participants themselves. May the Force Of Comic be with you.
