For all the Aliens Fan Club out there, there is an event right now in MITC (Melaka International Trade Centre), Malacca, Malaysia which is called ‘The Science of Aliens Exhibition’. The purpose is to explore the science behind the aliens and life on other planets which is based on the credible scientific research and in-depth study by the scientist and alien expert. The event has already started since 23rd August 2008 and will end on 29th January 2009. What a long event, nearly 5 months…From what I know, this event is the first one in the South East Asian region. One more thing, you also can send messages into space at the Alien Communication Centre. Hmm..can the aliens understand the smiley symbol and sms short wording if I send it to them? I’m afraid they might interpret it as a sign of “Let’s make WARRR!!!!”

In conjunction with the event, there will also be a contest called ‘Alien Creation Competition 2008′. The First Winner will receive RM5000, the second one will receive RM3000 and the third lucky one will win RM2000. Some of the requirements are the ‘Makhluk Asing’ must be created in 3D model form and it height must not be more than five feet. The model also should have no movable part (must be static model). The hard part (boring I presume?) is you also have to come up with the Scientific Report to explain the rationale behind the design of the alien by using the scientific principle and perspective based on the origin planet of the alien. Hmm..Fox Mulder might win this contest easily. The good thing is you can send in as many entries as you like. Oppss… one more thing, another good news is the contest closing date has been extended to 28th February 2009. So, there is still a lot of time to draft, design and build your alien, dude
