Last Sunday, 8th January 2009, we went to the ‘Robofair 2009′ event at Cineleisure Damansara. Since I’ve already posted about this event sometimes ago, so I think I will not talk about it again. Just behold some of the pictures that we managed to snap before the battery became exhausted (sigh!!).

The grand Robofair 2009 stage. The font has the Transformers feeling. The sound effects that came from here are so loud that my kid became scary and put her hands around her ears. If I’m not mistaken this is the Robosound part. Is it CE1 at the backdrop?

The Robofair 2009 participants were focusing 100% to complete their self-assemble miniature toy robots. They were getting ready to put their names in the MBR (Malaysia Book of Records) for the ‘Biggest Assembly of Robopets’. Good luck guys

Some of the miniature toy robots were getting ready to race. Most of them walked slowly and slowly and slowly like zombies, crawling from grave. It really felt like the Annual Science Show when I was in secondary school. Ohh..what a nostalgic moment…

The close-ups of the Robopets. I think most of them are the ‘Can Robug’ species where you can turn a regular drinks can into a cool robotic bug with the special kit sold by Kaki Robot Club. Quite scary if they can also think by themselves. When the time came, we only can yell, “WE HAVE BEEN INVADED!!!”

Beside that, there is also a special booth for PeKOMIK and caricature artists to show their talents. We can see many comics or specifically the graphic novels published by PTS is on the display. Most of the them are created, authored and drawn by the PeKOMIK and Pergh members. Kudos for them for successfully go into the mainstream comic industry. To tell the truth, I’m jealous with you guys (a lot). There are also the flyers or pamphlet on the upcoming Anugerah PeKOMIK 2009 that will be held on 25th April 2009 at Dewan Kedah Johor, PWTC (Putra World Trade Center). Don’t miss the gala event guys…Do we need to wear tuxedo?

Some of the graphic novels by the Pergh and PeKOMIK members are on display. That ‘Liga Pendekar’ graphic novel is created by Azhar, the PeKOMIK President who is scratching his head in this picture. Bohrtaag, the serious looking guy with the hat was doing a demo of digital drawing. Actually, he’s a friendly guy

Some of the member artworks being displayed at the PeKOMIK booth. Since the theme for the event is ‘A Robotix Exhibition’, so all the artworks got the robots and machines elements inside them. Ala Gundam, Macross, Robotech or Neon Genesis Evangelion.

PeKOMIK Otai Team: From left is Joi, Azhar (Tuan President), Katon Aqhari, vrempire (me) and Bohrtaag. Mr President look a little bit tired. Maybe he is currently using his energy all out for the upcoming Anugerah PeKOMIK 2009. Hope that all of us can give our utmost support to him.
