Next week, there will be a great expo on art in Malaysia. The official name of the event is ‘2nd International Art Expo Malaysia 2008‘ and it will be held from 26th to 30th November 2008 at Menara MATRADE, Off Jalan Duta, Malaysia. The venue of the expo is at MECC (Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre). The new MATRADE building design is quite unique and beautiful. So, what is the ‘Art Expo Malaysia’ anyway? It is an international art expo featuring renowned artists, established art galleries, reputable dealers and a host of art-related businesses from all over the planet Earth, focusing on Asia and Earthlings. The purpose is to further raise the awareness in terms of the appreciation of art by attracting the art dealers, art lovers, aesthetes, art aficionados, art students and the public. Below are some of the pictures from the last year Art Expo which is the ‘1st International Art Expo Malaysia 2007′. For your info, The Malaysia Book of Records has awarded this event with two National Records which are:

1) ‘The Largest International Art Exhibition’ with 1500 verified paintings or exhibits on display from 17 countries, and

2) ‘The Most Number of Artists Participating In Banner Painting Event’ with 284 artists joining this event.

For those of you who is an art and painting lover, this is place for you. Seems like most of those who came are from the category of golden age group (old people or ‘olang tua’) and rich and famous (tycoon or ‘olang kaya’) group . Maybe the younger generation prefer the manga, anime or games convention more than the old-style art.
