Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li in “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” Movie

I’ve come across this news from ComingSoon.net about the new photo of Kristin Kreuk (that cute girl from Smallville) as Chun-Li, the helicopter spinning kick fighter from the movie “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li“. She’s still look “cun” as Chun-Li or as Lana Lang. As most of you know, this film produced by 20th Century Fox is a live-action feature film based on once-some-time ago popular fighting game from CAPCOM. I remember when I was young, I illegally (due to under age rules) enter video game center to play the Street Fighter Arcade.

Chun-Li Street Fighter

One thing that makes me wonder is why they choose Chun-Li as the anchor of the story. For me, I’m more excited and thrilled if they produce something like “Street Fighter: The Legend of Ryu and Ken” or “Ryu/Ken : FIGHT” or “Ryu vs Ken“. Why they choose girl as the “hero” although according to statistics, most superhero or action film failed at box office if the lead character is female. Well, exception to Milla Jovovich’s Resident Evil.

What do you think?
