BioShock for XBox360: Is it a revolutionary game?

I’ve come across an article in InTech (a pull out from The Star) about a short review on the new game for XBox 360 with titled BioShock. Since it gave an encouraging review of the game, I decided to explore it a little bit further.

BioShock Website

BioShock is a FPS (First Person Shooter) game that is developed by 2K Boston. It is about you, who is plunged into an underwater city called Rapture after your plane crashed. The Rapture should be an utopia where it is the most ideal place on earth to live. But, when you are there, everything looks very chaotic, havoc and bloody. So, you must find the way out from there or else being hunt forever by the monsters or mutated citizens. You must also figure out what is exactly happening to that Atlantis style city. Hmm..looks a tiny, weeny, little bit like something from LOST, the TV series.

So, what the heck about this game? Well, the textures look really great. Seems like there will be a lot of rusty part in this game. One of the reviews mentioned that this game has the most detailed and realistic water effects ever developed in a video game. Ermm..on the other hand, do you have time to look at the water while being attacked by those genetically mutated citizens?  Anyway, the most important aspect of the game that really makes me extra-excited is because you can turn everything around you as a weapon and there are many possible ways how you can crack the ‘puzzle’, solve the obstacles and kick the baddies butt. And because of that, they use this tagline that might sell the game:

No encounter ever plays out the same way twice. No two gamers will ever play BioShock the same way.

BioShock 4

To summarize, the focus of this game is the storytelling and emotional factor rather than ‘Bang!Bang!Boom!Kebaboomm!!’ part. Overall, most of the reviews give nothing less than 90% and above. Since I love playing adventure and action game, I must give this game a try.
