I would like to congratz the COREPEPS team since they have been featured inside Gempak Issue 222 at the ‘Celoteh‘ section equivalent to ’Kata-kata Editor’. It is because inside COREPEPS Issue No 7, they manage to publish their exclusive interview with Fakhrul Anour (Ayour) who is currently the Editor and Artist of Gempak.  Now, that’s a really exclusive thing and something big for an underground zine. See picture below. In case you can’t read it (I bet nobody can hehe..), here is what they write in Gempak:

“TRIMAS COREPEPS! Kitorang nak ucapkan trimas kepada editor fanzine COREPEPS yang menerbitkan interviu eksklusifnya bersama Fakhrul Anour (Ayour) dalam COREPEPS isu No. 7!”

You are the man Arul (or buckSHOT1901 in Pergh)!!! I wish that my zine also got this type of coverage Aahh..forgot to introduce, Mr. Arul is a Founder cum C.E.O, Editor & Senior Designer of COREPEPS zine. For your info, COREPEPS stands for ‘Core Peoples’ or ‘Manusia-manusia Kental’ in Bahasa Melayu. It was set up in the middle of 2004 by Arul for the ‘Art Activist Community’ consists of local ‘indie’ musicians and artists who have truthfully, deep passion and transparent philosophy for arts. From what I see, they have produced quite their own merchandise too especially Artzine, Stickers and T-shirts.

For the COREPEPS issue no 7, the cover is by Jambang, the cartoonist of APO?, G3 and Komikoo magazine. Some of the contents are:

2. Core-Max : Ayour / Fakhrul Anour (Gempak’s Editor as mentioned above)
3. Art-core! : Limpah Tak Ruah!

This 48 pages, A5 zine is sold at price RM6.50 (inclusive free sticker) and it is distributed at Kedai Untie & Uncle (Campble), Malaya Distro at Putrajaya and also at Music Land in Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam.
