‘Antoo Fighter: Amukan Drakulat!’ - The Malaysian Ghostbusters?

Few days ago I noticed that there is already a billboard of the ‘Antoo Fighter: Amukan Drakulat!’ movie poster at one building near the cable bridge along the Federal Highway, Malaysia. I think the discussion in Pergh about this movie has been going on since last year and now it is already countdown to showtime. At first glance the ‘business model’ or premise of the story really looks similar like the Ghostbusters in United States. But when you look at it closely, you can see that the storyline is much more exciting and thrilling than the Ghostbusters. Antoo Fighter or ‘Unit Penentang Jembalang’ in Malay is a “low profile” and underground group consists of five people that are destined to save the world from the Evil Zion. Every 60 years, five people are choosen to fight the evil and ghost. This time, they will fight head-to-head with Drakulat Van Listerooy, the follower of Lord El-Sharon, the godfather of the evil from Zion. Since the storyline is quite long and a little bit “complex”, I suggest that you straight away go to their Official Site to read more on it.

The main actor here of course is Awie. Before this, he is ‘Mat Jiwang’ who is very popular with the ‘Sembilu’ franchise. Lately, he keen to take up the comedy character more. Now he is Drakulat Van Listerooy. Very suit him rite? Another famous Malaysia celebrity is Radhi OAG. He is famous for his “60’s TV” song sometime ago with his alternative band, OAG. Another one is Ngasrizal Ngasri. He is quite an old timer in the industry but he never get the main character of a hero yet. Maybe this character can be a jumpstart for him. Oh..one more, this movie is directed by Azizi ‘Chunk’ Adnan (FDAM). I donno much about him yet.

Below are some of the screenshot of the trailer and images from the Official Website of Antoo Fighter. The website is very fun to visit. The synopsis and information of the characters are really really funny and make me laughed. Especially the “Weakness Point” of the characters. The bio of the characters are presented some sort like powercard of Pokemon. It is worth a lot to visit it. Kudos for Petrakhus (Bro. Pet) for the brilliant design and content. P/S: ‘Pet, nanti jumpa belanjer aku teh tarik gelas besar ek hehe..

Hi Encik E, welcome to my website :)
I agree with you that there are some part that are lacking or over or exaggerated such as Pohjee (Radhi OAG) acting that are sometimes overacting. some audio part also or not very clear.

It maybe not balik modal for you. I also doubt if the movie is also balik modal to its producer. Anybody know how much it currently make?
