The sequel of the first Cicakman movie is coming soon. And it is really coming too soon in cinemas on 11 December 2008. Less than two weeks dude. The official title of the sequel will be “Cicakman 2 – Planet Hitam“. Well, it certainly looks a little bit darker here in this poster. For your info, this film is a co-production of KRU Studios and Grand Brilliance Sdn. Bhd. The basic plot of this film is about the return of Cicakman nemesis, Professor Klon, who plan to overthrow the Government and become the President of Metrofulus. Besides that, he also plan to control the water supply of the entire planet Earth through his “Black Water” plan. How Cicakman will handle this situation this time? Based from the poster above, there is really a major improvement on the Cicakman suit. It looks more tough, muscular, hunky-shining and six-packs than the earlier version. One more thing, the helmet or headgear really looks awesome and wonderful. Quite an impressive looks considering Saiful Apek is only a thinny-plywood type of guy. Based from The Star article, it is reported that the costume cost around RM150,000!! Man, I could get a condo in Klang Valley with that amount..Sob..sob..sobb..Anyway, the whole budget of the movie is a whooping RM2.5 million. Hopefully, it can get much more collection and profit than the previous movie which raked in RM5.2 million in 2006. I remember they put this news on the front page in Utusan Malaysia. What a suprise!!

This time, most of the cast from previous movies are returning back such as Saiful Apek as Hairi aka Cicakman (of course), Aznil Haji Nawawi as Professor Klon, Fasha Sandha as Tania, AC Mizal and Adlin Aman Ramli as Ginger Ghosts (can’t wait to hear their unique slang again). Some of the new comers in this film are Sharifah Amani as Iman, Louisa Chong as Miss Cheef (the auntie from Puteri) and Tamara Blaszensky from Indonesia as Rrama. According to Yusri Abdul Halim, the director of Cicakman (maybe the father of Cicakman), the mood and tone of this movie will be a little bit serious and have less jokes or comical scenes. It will concentrate more on the human feeling and potrayal of the main character and having more action-packed and CGI stunt scenes. Hmm..sounds like Spidey movie isn’t it? Just watch the trailer to believe it. My wife also stunned and can’t wait to watch it after watching the trailer.
