The two “otai” of the modern filming industry and special effects share their vision during the Comic Con at the San Diego Convention Center. They are James Cameron who is famous with Titanic & The Terminator and Peter Jackson who is strongly popular with the “Lord of The Rings” trilogy and also the new King Kong remake. Both of them really inspired by each other works.
They already excited to convert their masterpiece which are “Titanic” and “Lord of The Rings” into the 3-D format, but the lacks of the 3-D screen cinemas hindered their plan to move forward. They expect and hope that there will be more 3-D screens available soon and a new 3D ecosystem need to be built and enhance to cater for the demand of 3D films. Currently, both of them are heavily involved in the project related with 3D. Peter Jackson for example, is currently developing a “King Kong” attraction for Universal Theme Parks that surrounds the visitors with the 3-D images and effects while James Cameron is currently developing a company to expand the use of performance-capture technology, 3-D photography and digital projection for music and sports events.
I think, sooner or later, those 3D and holographic things like in Star Trek, Star Wars or even Harry Potter will become a normal things in our lives. Remember inside the Harry Potter movie where the picture inside the frame is moving. Now, we already have the digital frame rite?
