Jim Carrey will play the Lead Role in “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” Movie

Looks like we will see another new Jim Carrey movie soon. 20th Century Fox already confirmed that Jim Carrey will be in the movie based on the storybook written by Richard and Florence Atwater titled “Mr. Popper’s Penguins“. There might be a difference between the storybook version and the movie adaptation.
In the storybook, the main character is a poor house painter while in the movie, the lead character is the high-powered businessman. What a huge difference!! Not sure whether the storybook fans can accept this radical changes. In the storybook which was originally published in 1938, a poor house painter named Mr. Popper live in the small town of Stilwater with his family. Out of a sudden, he received a suprise from Admiral Drake who is exploring Antartica at that time. The suprise is in the form of a big male Adelie penguin. Mr Popper names the penguin “Captain Cook”. As time goes by, “Captain Cook” manage to mate with a female penguin named “Greta”. The penguins multiply and suddenly Mr. Poppers now has 12 Adelie penguins that he needs to take care of. Now, he needs to find a way to sustain his life, his family and also those twelve penguins. |
