The Spirit Movie based on Legendary Will Eisner’s Comic
I came across an article about The Spirit movie and quickly remember seeing this comic books a lot whenever I visit any major bookstores such as Kinokuniya, Borders and MPH. This must be a very famous comic since every major bookstores got them. From what I know, The Spirit is created by legendary Will Eisner in 1940. Hmm..sometime in World War II maybe. The Spirit’s real name is Denny Colt, a criminologist, and many people believed that he is already dead. By using his alter ego, The Spirit, he fights all the bad guys and wages a neverending war with them in the Central City . Just imagine a Lone Ranger terrifying the bad guys lead by Al Capone, gangster and Mafia. His ultimate weapon? Quick wits, sharp humour, two gloved fists plus a little bit of luck.

The movie version will be directed by Frank Miller, the famous guy behind the Sin City and 300, and it will be produced by Lionsgate. It might be released on 16th January 2009. Still to early to put any review. The tag line for this movie is :
Down these mean streets a man must come.
A hero born, murdered, and born again.
Oh.. and lastly, one thing to notice about Will Eisner is he is famous for only one title of comic which is The Spirit and it is a living proof that it is possible to create success if you have one type of product but with exceptional quality.
