Datuk Rohana Rozhan, ASTRO TV CEO on HD TV & High-Definition Content

Soon, I can buy that 32 inch (or more inch) LCD TV. Why? Because first the price of that High-Definition TV getting cheaper and cheaper. Second, later ASTRO will launch the HD (High-Definition) TV. Soon, it will re-introduce back the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) which is the reincarnation of ASTRO MAX. Anyway, I’m more interested with the HD content.
According to Datuk Rohana Rozlan (pic above), the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of ASTRO TV, they plan to launch the HD TV next month. That’s great!! I can’t wait for the new experience watching “CSI“, “Chuck” and “Supernatural” in High-Definition mode. But wait, it might not come free. This time, they will offer two types of package to their customer. One is the Standard Definition package and the other one is the new High-Definition package. Of course the price for the latter will be higher. For me, if the difference is just around 10% or less, I will opt for the HD one. Else, I will just wait until they reduce their price hehe 
Anyway, they shouldn’t be bother for the type of customer like me (who still use the cathode-ray tube TV) since there are around 1.2 million other ASTRO subscribers with the high-definition flat-screen TVs. ASTRO might be able to pulled the money from their pocket. At least half of them. Beside that, Datuk Rohana Rozhan also urge those programme producers to get ready for the HD technology. For example, to upgrade their camera to the one that support HD. Hmm… that’s a signal for a New Age of HD in the media world. Since the clarity is much, much, much better, perhaps all the producers need to upgrade their actors, actressses, newscaster too as well since this time the tiny, weeny pimples and blackheads also might be exposed clearly on that flat-TV screen. Kau agak-agak kalau harga 32″ LCD tu drop, berapa rendah dia boleh pegi? Bawah MYR800 boleh dapat tak next year?
Takpe pakai CRT, aku pun dok pakai TV jenis CRT sampai sekarang… Wahaha!

im a astro installer been 10 years ago,i really work hard for astro,honestly with astro, i have my family ,wife is no working and my son is study. but astro company really cant undestand me, we claim our payment always astro been delay my claims, so what for i working hard with this company, this company really rubbish,my payment wait until 4 to 5 months not received yet….so what can i do my ceo!!! and i hope datok rohana rozlan will undestand my position.it really very pity of me and all astro installer.. i really hope that datok rohana rozlan will give us a very good answer to us. and i hope that the payment will get it as soon as possible. thanks u.

May 17th, 2010 at 9:59 ami am the one of dealer n installer in west malaysia now we a face big major problem is the payment of installer fees claim from astro 6 month already .pls checking finance dept to release the payment assp.
althor the payment of dealer payment of dealer only,payment is last years august.until now
so sad n disappointed is the good ideal is cancell all the free campaign ,subsidi instalations for subscrible.if only rm 80 mim payment cant pay ,for the monthly astro how to paid.we found a lot almost 40% is loosed pay the bill .only the sales person more avance for he komesion only.
is the way making change for this major problem
