I had mentioned the possible threat of iptv to the respective “Strategic Planning” expert in Astro through Linked portal. He responded me that iptv such as PPS is not a real threat for Astro.

Astro is currently working hard to promote its AOD and HD broadcast, mainly covering the sports channel. But, will this counter the threat from iptv, especially the WorldIP.TV from TM ?????

so far Astro is the dominion of all mainstream channels. Could be the an MoU between SKMM, channel companies and Astro themselves tie a rope to allow only Astro as a ‘sole-proprietor’ content provider. So how TM to break lose? One I can suggest TM to propose a ultimatum whether to stay with the monopoly or mainstream channels are opened up to all in-waiting-list content providers, you SKMM decides….
